Title: Center Coordinator

Function: Responsible for coordinating general tasks and activities of The South Central Literacy Council

Employment Type: Part-time (12-26 hours per week), requiring a minimum of 1 day in the office per week. Hybrid remote work options available with personal equipment. Daily duties required. Flexible hours.

Pay Range: $11 - $15 per hour, dependent on responsibilities undertaken and experience.

Job Description:

The Center Coordinator will handle a variety of tasks to ensure efficient operation of the Literacy Council. This role requires a blend of administrative, operational, and strategic responsibilities, including:

Required Responsibilities:

  • Secretarial Duties: Managing student and volunteer intake, answering phones, routing messages, and scheduling.

  • Facilities Upkeep: Conducting supply runs, ordering materials, and coordinating with service providers.

  • Data Management: Inputting and managing data in our metrics dashboard.

  • Exam Proctoring: On-site administration and monitoring of examinations to ensure a secure and compliant testing environment.

Additional Responsibilities (Optional but not required):

  • Bookkeeping: Managing financial records. This is a high-priority task that can impact compensation and hours due to budget savings.

  • Housekeeping: Overseeing regular cleaning tasks. Taking on this responsibility would free up additional funds for the role, potentially increasing hours and compensation.

  • Social Media Management: Updating platforms and engaging with the community online. Candidates with strong performance in this area can see an increase in hours.

  • Executive Assistant Duties: Assisting the Executive Director with scheduling and project management. Performance and skill in this area can see an increase in hours.

  • Student Instruction: Occasionally conducting educational sessions as needed. Engagement in this task could lead to additional hours.

  • Grant Writing: Assisting with the creation and management of grant proposals. Success in securing grants could lead to increased hours and compensation.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry. Familiarity with Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a capability to represent the organization professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping skills and proficiency with Quickbooks Online with a strong ability to manage financial records.

  • Experience or a demonstrated understanding of effective social media management.

  • Additional skills in grant writing, teaching, or executive assistance are highly desirable and would influence compensation and role expansion.

Note: This position is part-time with potential for variable hours based on organizational needs and candidate performance. The center follows the local school calendar, including Spring, Fall, and Winter breaks and holidays, and is closed on Fridays.
